A Family Business
Metro West Ambulance, Inc., is owned by JD Fuiten. The Metro West family of ambulance services performs according to the standards developed by JD and his teams to produce the finest level of patient care and customer service.
Our ambulance services provide advanced life support and medical transportation services in Southwest Washington State and western Oregon from Portland to Astoria, Seaside, Lincoln City, Newport, and Coos Bay.
Founded in 1953 by the Fuiten family, we are distinguished as the longest running owner-operated ambulance service in the Pacific Northwest. Started as a basic first aid operation in Forest Grove and, in 1973, we began the transition to become the full-spectrum emergency and non-emergency healthcare transportation service we are today.

JD is as hands on as they get in this industry. Having grown up in emergency services [literally, he ran calls with his father when he was 15 years old and this was allowed], JD is now a leader within this industry nationally as a member of the American Ambulance Association Board of Directors for the past 12 years and also on the State EMS Committee for the past 13 years.
